Comfortable, cosy, welcoming and atmospheric. No pretensions, just a good old fashioned country pub. Food lovely, landlady great, busy and bustling and obviously very popular with the locals . Timothy Taylor’s on draft excellent and decent wine too

The en-suite room was very comfortable, clean, warm and with modern facilities. Laundry was lovely and white with crisp bedding. Generous refreshment tray. The pub area was clean and warm but looked a little tired. Generous, safe parking which is a plus in this quaint Peak District village. Sunny aspect to beer garden. The only negative was breakfast was not available as the pub was not open on a Monday
