Hotel Overview

The 5-star Grand Hotel offers stylish rooms. Set in the iconic Grade II listed former railway headquarters, it has bedrooms that feature free WiFi, a flat-screen TV, bathrobes, slippers, Molton Brown toiletries and an evening turn down service.
The Rise Restaurant, Terrace & Bar offers modern British cuisine, with locally sourced, freshly prepared dishes. The open kitchen and spacious setting at The Rise, York creates an immersive and social dining experience for guests, guests can enjoy afternoon tea, lunch time snacks or an evening of luxury.
The Grand, York is currently undergoing an extensive and exciting spa renovation, meaning that the spa and gym facilities are currently unavailable. However, guests are welcome to book Elemis spa treatments to enjoy throughout the duration of the renovations. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Classic Double Room - enter dates to see room photos

Each spacious room features a king-size bed, seating for two and a desk. The bathroom features a bathtub with a powerful overhead shower or just a shower only. There is also a flat-screen TV, Molton Brown bath products, bathrobes and slippers, and an evening turndown service. Complimentary access to the Spa with pool are included. Prior reservation is required.

Executive Double Room - enter dates to see room photos

Slightly larger than our Classic Rooms, the majority of our Executive Rooms also benefit from a walk-in shower, as well as marble topped bathtubs. Benefiting from a work desk area, there is also a flat-screen TV, Molton Brown bath products, bathrobes and slippers, and an evening turndown service. Complimentary access to the Spa with pool are included with Executive rooms. Prior reservation is required.

Classic Twin Room - enter dates to see room photos

This room features Egyptian cotton linen. The room also benefits from a flat-screen TV and an evening turndown service. The en suite bathroom offers bathrobes, slippers, and complimentary Molton Brown products. Complimentary access to the Spa with pool are included. Prior reservation is required.

Grand Heritage Suite - enter dates to see room photos

An elegant suite styled in shades of cream, gold and magenta. Enjoy the spacious lounge area with a large sofa covered in velvet or unwind with York’s city views. Benefit from beautiful sunken or free-standing baths (depending on availability) and walk-in showers. Some of our Grand Heritage Suites have a double walk-in shower and separate guest toilets. There is also a flat-screen TV, Molton Brown bath products, bathrobes and slippers, and an evening turn-down service. Complimentary access to the Spa with pool are included with Suites. Prior reservation is required.

Each unique Heritage Suite is spacious and some suites offer double sinks, single and double walk-in showers and feature windows. All of our Heritage Suites feature a bath. There is a spacious seating area.There is also a flat-screen TV, Molton Brown bath products, bathrobes and slippers, and an evening turn-down service. Complimentary access to the Spa with pool are included with the Suites. Prior reservation is required.

The Grand, York is a truly exceptional hotel. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Room was lovely, spacious, clean and quiet. Fantastic location.

The hotel is very stylish, comfortable and well located. The staff are,without exception,friendly, kind and helpful. We enjoyed relaxing in the1906 bar in the evenings, in those gorgeous high backed chairs. No loud music or shouting, just the hushed tones of conversations. Fabulous!
