Liked the applied "funkiness" which seemed to take a cue from independent youth hostel model of the last 40 years ie relaxed vibe, steampunky, Hogwartian overladen walls (common in much of York), lots of cute signs and quirky nicknackery aimed to distract ane entertain single travellers primarily. Breakfast hampers were charming and practical. Liked that room was not overlooked by other properties

I loved everything about this place, all the little details like the beautiful mugs and plates, the cozy breakfast basket, the carefully decorated room (mine was theatre themed!), lovely spacious bathroom, the warmth and comfort of it all. The location was perfect, a quiet beautiful street just behind the park and close to the station. High recommend! :)
