The location of the hotel is just a few meters from the river, in a quiet part of Xingpin, in the area where the picture on theRMB20 note was taken. The air is clean and the hotel is a beautiful traditional old Chinese house. Our suite is very clean and spacious with 2 full beds and 1 queen bed with elegant beddings, a living/tearoom, a balcony and a pretty bathroom. We have a view of the karst mountains from our room. Our balcony is spacious and is a good place to do some stretching in the morning. We do not really need the air conditioner in April as the weather is very comfortable. We enjoyed the lovely and spacious rooftop, and there are many seating arrangements, where we could sit around having tea or a drink. The air is cool in the evenings and we enjoyed watching the stars. One morning after the rain, the karst hills were shrouded in mists and it looks like the famous Chinese mountain paintings. There is a very beautiful library on the rooftop which house great books, mainly in Chinese language, and there is also a lounge where you can play cards etcetera. The owner (Mr Freeman) and his son are very hospitable and is very knowledgeable of the history of the Chinese dynasties and we enjoyed learning about China from our hospitable host. Mr Freeman performed the Chinese tea ritual for us on our last day. It was really lovely. They took us to see the fireflies one evening. Breakfast was great. It was simple and adequate. We ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant on 3 evenings. The food was delicious. We stayed in Kingpin for 4 nights and made trips to Yangshuo and the surrounding areas by rented cars. The staff of the hotels drove us around the area and picked us up and sending us back to the ferry pier. They also arranged transport from and to the train station. Overall it was a very nice stay in Guillin.

Love everything about this place. It was located in a quiet area which i enjoyed very much. Room had great view. Walking distance to the river Li Jiang. Staff were all very hospitable and went above and beyond to help me when i encountered problems with local agent and with my payment app. They gave me a lot of recommendations around the area and arranged some activities for me. Truly had a wonderful stay and I'm already thinking to go back another time!

Beautiful location right at the foot of Yuanbao Mountain. Very quiet, relaxing, and well-maintained. The service was great and everything felt well taken care of. At night, we could see stars and even fireflies, which was such a special touch. Also, the dogs here are super cute!There are plenty of activities, including Chinese calligraphy and fan painting with ink brushes taught entirely in English。
