Ryokan Overview

Located in the Shibu hot-spring area, Onyado Hishiya Torazo features Japanese-style accommodations. “Very lovely stay at old-school Ryokan”

We had a wonderful time staying in this very cute and cozy Ryokan. The breakfast was amazing and the Onsen were wonderful. Hishiya Torazo was very friendly and helpful providing us tipps for things to do in the area and pointing us toward nice dinner options. A nice surprise for people with tattoos: the onsens in town are also fine to use and you are being provided with a key to access them all. :)

Warm welcome with little touches such as tea and biscuits in the room. Beautiful, roomy suite. The onsen facilities were charming, with both inside and outside onsen for use. Our host was so helpful and kind.

The building was amazing. Traditional elements combined with functionality. Lots of personal items displayed around the property gave it individuality and made it feel you were staying in somone’s home. The private onsen we could use as a family was a bonus. The rooms was warm and comfortable with a private toilet. It was very quiet and we were hardly aware of other guests. It was easy walking distance to the Snow Monkey Park.

Great traditional ryokan in Shibu onsen - the baths are amazing and breakfast was excellent. The inn is very kitschy in a traditional japanese style and for those of us who are ryokan lovers, you really feel the magic. A wonderful place to stay!
