Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff who did everything to make us feel very welcome. We had to adjust to having everything done for, the room and garden were exceptional and the staff did everything to make us feel very relaxed. The food at the hotel and around were delicious with lots of local delicacies. There is enough to do around yamaguchi so you don't get bored, however you are mostly at this hotel to relax and get away from the business of Japan.

The top class greeting and personal attention. Attention to detail was at a high level. The breakfast was beyond expectation and memorable to the extent of the quality and amount of food. The facilities were impressive and the location excellent. Highly recommend this stay.

This is a very traditional and even historic "hotel". We booked a corner suite which was honestly Japan fabulous. Overlooking the exquisite gardens and with anything one might want, although very traditionally Japanese. The stone tub private onsen was excellent. We arrived in the midst of a late heat wave and the a/c worked well, even in the "traditional" part of the lodging. Breakfast was served in a private booth and was wonderful. The staff was helpful and attempted to accommodate non-English speakers in our party.
