Cape Lodge has seen better days. The lovely staff on working holiday visas from all over the globe were earnest and diligent. The grounds remain beautiful and park-like. The rooms were basic country cottage with little feel of any luxury. Food was excellent. The dining room , which as the focal point of the lodge overlooking the reservoir , should be better than a beige cafeteria with lonely picture hooks dotting the blank walls. Sad and not worth the money

Serene and relaxing. Third stay at CL. Showing its age for the price per night but still a lovely stay. The stocked mini bar a nice touch.

Staff are excellent , especially in the restaurant. The view of the pond from the restaurant is very pretty especially at dusk. The breakfast was good and fresh and we ate once at the restaurant and the chef was very mindful of our allergies. The room is good size and the bed is comfortable .
