Family Rooms are situated in Tendal Howe within Hillthwaite gardens, yet only a few steps away from the hotel. Access is by a covered walkway and you will find convenient parking right outside the entrance to the separate building, ensuring easy access to your room. This peaceful location enjoys the Lakeland panorama. Family rooms have a large double bed, open plan through to a lounge area with either a sofa bed or space for a put me up bed. There is an internal second bedroom with a single bed.

The hotel facilities were mostly good. Our room was right next to reception opposite the public loos which meant it was quite noisy. Therefore, I don't think this room should have been priced the same as other cosy rooms. The room wasn't completely clean either. Some of the staff were lovely but then found 1 lady at reception quite unnecessarily abrupt and short which was a bit off putting.

The decor of the hotel is beautiful, rooms are so clean. The restaurant and bar staff were the best, attentive, smiled and efficient.

The location & settings of the hotel were lovely, right on top of the hill with beautiful views. The hotel itself was very nice too, had a lovely lounge area, rooms were really nice & comfy. Had a swimming pool & sauna to enjoy, great cooked breakfasts too! A great location in the middle of Windermere, easy access to restaurants & the lake itself with a 15-30min walk either side. The staff were super friendly & accommodating too.
