The long enclosed garden was ideal for the dog.Nice to have a dishwasher and provided dishwasher tablets. The log burner in the living room was cheery, very efficient and combined with a very efficient central heating system kept the house nice and cosy( tho it would have been very nice if we had been left a few logs /kindling wood as a starter pack!) Very nice sunroom at the back of the house and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were modern with plenty of kitchen utensils(the bathroom door lock is still faulty risking one being unable to get out of the bathroom if locked inside!!) Set in Staveley with lots of amenities,good selection of shops ,butchers,bakers teashops ,the Angel and Child hotel which is dog friendly,has log fires and good food. There are plenty of pleasant walks around the village ,and further afield easy access to nearby towns and villages of Windermere ,Ambleside ,Kendal etc and all the tourist spots of lakes and mountains

Great Location for me as was attending a course at Long House Studios up in the Kentmere Valley ( and art course I much recommend). Comfortable well equipped cottage with delightful conservatory overlooking a nice garden. The village has pub, well stocked convenience store and take away and bakery options. Easily accessible by train as there is a nearby station. Lots of walks, country houses, nice villages etc all within a half hour drive if wished.
