Very clean and cosy, with really kind owners. A good spread of breakfast was available every morning. As a single female traveller, I felt very safe, and the owner Graham even kindly helped me to reach the station with all my luggage. Would definitely recommend this place!

I had such a lovely stay at Briscoe Lodge. Graham is really nice and more than happy to help in any way he can. I had let him know I am coeliac so wouldn’t need breakfast and he kindly got in some gluten free food for me, totally above and beyond! The rooms are just the right size and the ensuites and bright and nicely decorated. Great location close to public transport and the town centre too!

Graham was very helpful before and during my stay; he was easy to communicate with ahead of my arrival and gave me plenty of great tips of where to cycle/hike to, and some amazing routes to explore.. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely. The B&B was ideally located in a quiet street walking distance away from Windermere town centre.

Location was great - a good hub for exploring if you’re using public transport, as I was. 10 min walk from Windermere train station with luggage. Cafes and supermarkets in Windermere are all within 5-10 min walk. 20 min walk down to Bowness-on-Windermere (an extra 10 min walk to the ferry). 2 mins to the bus stop with frequent buses up to Ambleside and Grasmere. Friendly hosts with really good local knowledge of transport options, walking trails etc. Varied breakfast selection that will fill you up ahead of a long walk - toast, porridge, cereals, pastries, yoghurts and fruit with all popular spreads, jams and condiments. Bedroom was clean and comfortable and always warm (the temperature got to below zero degrees outside in winter, but I was always cozy), and quiet - I never really heard the other guests. Comfortable bedding with a mix of hard and soft pillow types. Modern high pressure shower where the water gets nice and hot (and two fluffy big towels provided, which was plenty for my short stay). Kettle provided, with tea, coffee (inc decaf) and hot choc selection with complimentary snacks (replenished daily). Walk-in storage with hangers for hanging big coats etc. Plenty of standard plug sockets and USB sockets. TV, Hairdryer, Iron and ironing board also supplied (though I didn’t use them).

Graham was a very friendly and helpful host and was happy to discuss and recommend different walks in the area which was most appreciated. The room was simple but very clean and comfortable. There was a good range of continental breakfast items, including cereals, toast, yoghurts, fruits and juice/tea/coffee. The location of Briscoe Lodge is excellent and is a very short walk into Windermere and slightly longer down the hill to Bowness on Windermere. Would stay again.
