“Pleasant stay”

Great view, comfy seating and beds were decent. Excellent communication and responsiveness of hosts

“Very good”

It’s an excellent location, the Ngunguru estuary is directly opposite, just across the road. Great views, especially on a full tide. I saw little of the owners: just on arrival and departure: respecting my privacy no doubt, but very friendly and welcoming. I was treated to some home-made carrot cake, which was very kind. The accommodation is great: the bed is very comfortable, heating to the room was provided and the kitchen area has all the equipment you need. Nice to see family photos of days gone by, of past summer holidays: the basic holiday bach and fishing were integral parts of kiwi culture.

“A comfortable stay beside the ocean”
26 Jan 2025
The location is good, right across the road from the ocean. The road is busy at times, but little road noise can be heard from inside the bach. The beds were comfortable, the bedside lights were appreciated and I went to sleep immediately after turning out the light. Lots of options for seating, nice lounge chair with footstool, and a long built in couch. The retro-style of the kitchen is cool, with the formica topped table to match, just watch your knees when you pull the chair in at the table. I enjoyed the historical feel of the bach, with photos of past generations making me feel at home and surrounded by the memories embeded in the bach. History books and pamphlets of the area were available, and lots of novels and children's books to read, catering for all tastes. A folder of pamphlets and information sheets is provided on the sideboard with a visitor's book alongside it. The shower was good considering guests have to watch the amount of water used as it is from a spring. Extra facilities included a piano with a lot of sheet music in the stool, a pool table, a radio, and a garden to pick salad vegetables from. At times there must be home-made preserves and chocolate to purchase as a sign on the wall advertised these, but I didn't see any. Car-parking was on the lawn at the front of the bach. There were some luxurious plants and flowers to admire in the garden. Takeaway food shops are a short walk down the road.
