The place is very good considering you are in a quite remote area. Great position for hikes. Restaurant very good. A lot of facilities. Staff very kind.

It is closed to Tongariro Alpine Crossing ending point where we park our car.

Adored he location, perfect still warm weather and the views. Scorching toasty sun on my back from the bacbackers deck. Loved my little room tucked under the eaves and the little Rock retaining wall (am an architect these things affect me). The alpine trail alongside skotel stunning. That day I was up there with the Gods! Liked talking with other guests. In short I absolutely lucked out staying one night there and can t wait to return.
