“Cosy vibes. Great location.”

The location if fantastic. You can just lock up, packed lunch with you, and begin rambling. There are so many walks available. There's a mountain just behind the village, you can find your way up. There are so many walks, but we didn't do this one. The host has left a binder for you to flick through some suggestions. There's a long walk you can do that meanders along the bank of the river Ure. A "hidden" waterfall can be found in the village as well. There's a small village shop connected to a tea room. Not a typical convenience store, it has a very small selection of items and only 1-2 of each. There are only some 300 persons who live in this village, so that may be why. The local pub is lovely, although they are very precise with when they serve food. There's little traffic here, West Burton has no through roads. Handy to get to the 3 peaks. We were up the Pen-y-ghent and rambled around the other two. The accommodation has a fridge with a small freezer section, dishwasher, oven, hob, utensils, etc. Dishwasher tablets were provided under the sink and more than enough for the week. A great place to visit, overall.

“We had a lovely family get away and recharged the batteries.”

“Perfect location best kept secret in Yorkshire, friendly, welcoming, wildlife and waterfalls .”

location is incredible, most beautiful village in the dales, the coach house was rustic and the gardens were stunning. west Burton is impeccable village, locals friendly . The waterfalls were amazing, we swum in them every evening along with the trout! best place to shop we discovered late in the week its Leyburn and its a family owned large and unusual supermarket called Campbells a well hidden little gem, the walk up onto the viewpoint at the end of the alley is also worth the effort. We had company at the coach house beautiful little swallows on the staircase in the evenings. It was very peaceful, easy to park, staircase is steep so be mindful elderly people and youngsters. We visited Hawes , markets, Wensleydale cheese experience that is a must do absolutely fabulous, value for money and the cheese is amazing. Bolton Abbey, Richmond, Skipton, Aysgarth falls..make sure you park in national parks carpark at the bottom of the falls not the top one as steep walk. Tiers and sprinkles in Leyburn for incredible cookies and cakes, great welcome. Upper swaledale is a must, see where they hung the butter on their way to hawes market, ribbledale viaduct, sedgeborough for book lovers! we struggled to get my dad out of the shops! When we ran out of places to visit we went to Knaresborugh via leyburn lovely scenic drive and beautiful town, castle, viaduct, riverside and town, tip park in waterside carpark for the river, caves, viaduct. We will return as it's a stunning part of Yorkshire, amazing people and great local food. It's worth taking turns off all the little villages we discovered lots of hidden gems lots great creative people making fabulous things. we were lucky the old fashioned car rally was on that was great to witness and the owners were happy to show off their quirky vehicles.
