Please note that any bookings that include the 24th December night and the 31st December night there is a mandatory supplement of USD 40* for adults and USD 30* for children 5 - 16 years old. This supplement is for the gala dinner banquet for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. A 3% surcharge is levied for all card payments.subject to 10% service charge.booking over 31st night a $40 usd compulsory supplement will be added for the NYE Banquet.

Incredibly friendly staff and managers Ayesh and Sunil went above and beyond to answer all our questions and provide solid recommendations. The property is well located near stretches of beach, cute cows in the grass area outside and tuk tuks at arms length. The breakfast was also delicious as well as the buffet dinner we had on Monday night - friends we also invited thoroughly enjoyed the food. They also gave an early birthday dessert platter for my husbands birthday in advance which was so kind.

From the first moment, Ayesh and his entire team made us feel incredibly welcome – almost like part of the family. Whenever we needed help, whether with airline issues, organizing transport, booking activities or getting tips about the area, they were always there and happy to assist. A real highlight was the Fish BBQ evening. The food was sensationally good, very fresh and at around 4,000 LKR per person absolutely fair. The atmosphere was relaxed and social, with surfers, backpackers and families from all over the world sharing a great evening together. We also took surf lessons with Lucky – thank you Lucky and hang loose! 🤙 Right in front of the accommodation there is a great reef break for experienced surfers, and nearby you’ll find several beautiful small bays that are surprisingly uncrowded. Only around sunset do a few people gather there – and it’s definitely worth it. Getting around was super easy thanks to the tuk-tuks waiting right outside (special thanks to Kalana 🙏) who took us comfortably and safely to places like whale watching tours, Weligama or local restaurants. For us as a family of five this stay was simply wonderful. We would come back anytime and can highly recommend Lions Rest to anyone visiting this area.

Lion's rest is truely a wonderful small hotel with a warm atmosphere and attentive and sweet staff. Ayesh and his team did everything they could to make sure we had a fantastic time. On top of the teams warm service this place features so many other great things: - situated in a small community close to the beach and with nice restaurants and massage within 2 min walk - 5 min tuk tuk to the buzz in Welligama - clean and well kept rooms with wiew to the beach - sunbeds for guests - excellent breakfast - amazing rice and curry (preorder) - much more
