Really lovely staff, very convenient location, very clean comfy room. We are a big fans of retro so we really appreciated the unchanged early 80s decor (my bed frame even had an original AM/FM radio built in to the headboard). The fully carpeted 1984 lift was brilliant. I would say ‘don’t change it!’ But it will probably be renovated.

The young people at the reception guarantee a smile and a warm welcome. The rooms are old-style but spacious, with comfortable mattresses, large windows, an electric fan, and built-in air conditioning. My bathroom had both a bath and shower, with plenty of hot water. Downstairs, there’s a cozy wooden bar with indoor and outdoor tables set near a soothing fountain. The hotel also offers a large tree-shaded parking area, and on the lawn, recliners invite you to relax, chat in the sun, or take an afternoon nap. There’s a sauna as well, though I didn’t visit it—at the time of my stay, the summer heat across Europe was sauna enough. On the first floor, the restaurant serves tasty Mexican food. The ambiance is always lively, as tourist buses (usually around three per night) often choose this hotel for a stopover, creating a friendly and international crowd. For those who prefer to shop for fruit or snacks, both Lidl and Aldi are close by. The Dreiländerbrücke and its impressive shopping center are only a 15-minute walk away. At the foot of the bridge, a beautiful terrace offers the perfect spot to watch the sunset and see the Rhine glide peacefully by while you enjoy dinner or a cocktail/mocktail.

The interior and bathroom of the hotel is faded glory, but this only accounts for the looks. The bed and the shower were both very comfortable, which made it a great spot for our transit. The hotel is located near the highway, the parking lot contains large parking spaces for our car with tent trailer. The reception offered free water with lemon and orange, and we could buy a simple croissant to start our journey the next morning. I would book again for transit.
