Jim and Tine are excellent hosts. Jim is an encyclopedia of local knowledge and will be able to answer nearly every question you might have about Cumbria and the Lakes. On check in you're taken through the building and shown everything you may need during your stay, plus more. The stories behind the various furniture and pictures on the walls are super interesting and add an extra layer to the stay. Tine simply works magic in the kitchen and you certainly don't go hungry. The food is fresh, local and home-made and you're to make adjustments to your taste/requirements. Porridge might seem like one of the less interesting options to choose from the menu but let me tell you, it's probably the best porridge you'll have! The building is surrounded by wildlife and we saw more than one red squirrels, right outside our bedroom window. Access to the local fells is as easy as walking out the front door and you can do a reasonable loop along the Ullswater way to Aira Force and then back the the Bnb via the pub in Dockray. Thge BnB is very well located for Ullswater, Blencathra, Keswick/Derwentwater. The lanes from the main road through to the BnB are skinny and offer passing places here and there but aren't particulary difficult or scary.
