The hotel was charming - very 'olde worlde'. Our room was small but had everything we needed, We especially liked the window seat that overlooked a very cute garden. We didn't eat at the hotel. In the words of the famous Del Trotter ' breakfast is for wimps' and the restaurant had a set menu which was too limited for me ( I am a very fussy eater and am also diary/gluten intolerant).

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at a location not visited for many years. The hotel is in a delightful setting and the accommodation, attentive and friendly staff and first class dining made this a short, but memorable stay.

the gardens were as beautiful as any hotel we had stayed in, and we have travelled a lot in europe as well as the UK. everything was well done, staff excellent, attentive without being a nuisance - not easy to achieve. food excellent. well done, not easy to achieve these standards.

The Heron Suite is spacious, very well appointed and comfortable. The private access to the riverside terrace was the icing on the cake. Younger members of staff very welcoming to a gay couple and our guests at dinner.
