It was a quick one night stay and we opted for a basic option. The room was small but cozy with 2 single beds. The decor was old fashioned but charming. Basic things like soap, towels and hair dryer were provided, which is all we needed. Room was air conditioned and warm. We also picked it because it was right in the centre across from Huhu restaurant. The lodge offers continental breakfast included in the price. It was recently taken over by an Indian couple who are very friendly and knowledgeable. At a time of our stay they also offered dinner but we already had plans in Huhu so declined. Overall quite nice but basic which is what we wanted. The owner showed us another bigger room but we didn’t need anything bigger so stick to the smaller one.

There was a simple breakfast prepared, and I had it deliciously. And the accommodation was near the cave, so it was very comfortable. The host was very friendly:)

Very nice accomodating family hosts Comfortable warm rooms. Great views from the unit. Simple breakfast with nice coffee jams home made yoghurt cereals toast lovely dining room. Very close to Waitomo Caves 600 metres away so you could drive or walk. Nice peaceful stay really enjoyed it.
