The beds were really comfy and cosy and the hotel owners were lovely. I thought the owners handled a difficult situation very well, through no fault of their own they lost power and hot water to the hotel on the last night of our stay. The BP across the road was installing EV chargers , they were told that it wouldn't affect them but clearly it did. The owner was not able to guarantee we would get power and water back so refunded us our money and advised us to book elsewhere. She had to turn away paying customers to ensure they were not inconvenienced. My heart went out to her and either BP or the power company should compensate her IMO.

Helpfulness of reception and housekeeping staff was exceptional especially as we had to extend our stay and needed help to do that.

The room itself was exceptional. Probably the best country motel room I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in a lot.
