Incredible house high up in the mountains. Stunning views, extremely comfortable beds, gorgeous gardens and quirky pink pool. The house was very large with spacious rooms and perfect for my family with teens. I loved the style of the interiors as well - very eclectic and more like a home than a vacation house. The extremely friendly owner came round and dropped off breakfast, some lovely jams, milk, bread, eggs, biscuits, port, a local delicacy for pudding one evening and fruit. We easily visited Braga, Ponte de Lima and Viana Do Castello during our stay and it was only an hour's drive away from Porto airport. Local, very well stocked shops are about five minutes away. Tip - don't hire a huge car... but hire one with a decent sized engine as the roads to the house are narrow and steep. We had the perfect stay.

We had an amazing stay! We happened to come at a bit of a rainy time, but the property was so lovely it didn't matter. The views were beautiful and we made use of the fireplace during the evenings when it was chilly. The host could not have been better - very responsive and accommodating. He delivered a delicious breakfast on our first morning, and responded very quickly to any questions we had. It was an easy drive to Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima, and there is a little market close by for groceries. We would definitely stay here again!

Alta Vista is fully equiped. The house is beautiful decorated and the garden is wonderful. The whole place is obviously loved by the owners. The owners are very nice and open people. They spoiled us with homegrown veggies, fruits and eggs and what not. It was a pleasure to meet both mother and son.
