Angela and Ion are incredibly warm and entertaining hosts, with plenty of stories that make you want to stay an extra day just to hear more. They know the area inside out and gave us great hiking tips. We especially loved the Borcut experience, the small chapel in Valea Vinului, and the peaceful walk through the forest. Breakfast was a real highlight — homemade dishes and traditional products from the region, the perfect calm start to a day of relaxation. The road leading to the guesthouse is paved almost all the way; there’s only a short stretch still unfinished, but work is already underway, so it should be fully paved soon.

I was pleasantly surprised that the access road was so much better than i read in previous reviews. There is only a 300m stretch without asphalt now. I have a car with low ground clearance but there was no problem. Angi and Ion are very helpful.

We are returning to Talhaus yearly for the past few years and it is always a pleasure. The hosts are able to create a very familiar atmosphere where you can leave your worries at the property line. We always enjoy our stay as it is exactly what we are looking for, connecting with nature in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Maramures . We never used the extra services but we know they have several including a hot tub , suitable for larger groups and even day trip arrangements available also great for groups.

They were very welcomig,the area is very beautiful and quiet,iv e been visiting Mocanita train from the area and they was very helpful with advices and recommendation.
