Great stay at Casa Hildago. Ana Maria was a great host and was very pleasant to deal with ( Through Google translator which made us both laugh) . I recommend that you input the meeting point (Petrol station in Villanueva de la Cocepcion) and the villa (15mins from the meeting point) in your phone or Sat nav beforehand. Extremely peaceful location - nearest house is 7 mins away walking. Access to the villa can be hair raising at first, but you soon get used to the track to it. I definitely recommend a SUV with at least 1.5 engine. The roads are all twisties in that region so it really becomes second nature. No pain, no gain for the views/peace. Make sure you have some food on the Saturday for that day and the Sunday as there are no supermarkets open on Sundays. The local Dia shop in Villanueva is very good and has all your needs. We also shopped at Aldi in Benalmadena for the week. The coast is a 50min drive from the villa, which is not a problem if you want to go away from the villa as you are on holiday and no rush! The WiFi is excellent. I recommend downloading films/series etc at home to your devices as their is only news channels in English on the TV. You do need some entertainment at night at the time of year we have been (March). Unfortunately the weather was not very good for us. 2 days were sunny (19 degrees), the rest it was a washout. Shame really as we have been that time of year before and it was 23 degrees every day. Not complaining as it was a week away from grey UK. Thankfully the log burner and endless logs were a godsend. Recommend a trip to Caminito del Rey, which is a nice easy walk around a canyon 100m up on a wooden path fixed to the cliff edge. The walk in total was approx 5km long (2hrs). The swimming pool area is lovely and clean, the pool was super clean, but unfortunately too cold to swim for me. I can normally get in, but not brave enough this time. I bet it is fabulous though in the summer months.

Good location in countryside enclosed with olive gardens. Perfect place to get away from busy cities and enjoy the mountain views.
