The Suite room was much better than expected. All very clean and appropriate. Ample space. Beds very comfortable. Small balcony with view to the Salinas and port. Food in the restaurant was awesome, super yummy, both the meat and the fish.l, but also the pizzas. Staff is very nice people and you feel like at home. I also rented quads from them for a one-day tour of the island. No problems. I would no doubt repeat again.

The best place to stay in Maio - Matia and Mirko are excellent hosts, always helpful and very communicative and truly wanting to make sure you have a lovely stay! They went above and beyond to ensure we made it back in time for our flight and for that we are truly thankful! The facilities are the best in Maio, room is cozy, bed is comfortable, everything is very clean and AC works well. There's a good breakfast available and the restaurant is also very good. In addition to this, there are a lot of activities you can book directly and we had a great time with our rented car visiting Ilha do Maio. All in all, despite some issues with travel arrangements, we had a lovely experience in Maio and would highly recommend visiting and staying in Pensão Big Maio!

The hotel is run by Italians. They speak different languages. The internet didn't work in the room on the second floor, you had to go out into the corridor and sit on the chairs. The internet was good in the restaurant, as was the food - the breakfast was boring and meager, and the dinner was excellent, good Italian cuisine with local products. Souvenirs are sold inside. We rented a quad bike, it's very convenient, we spent three great days on the island
