We stayed at the Hotel König for two nights because we were attending a funeral at Simmering crematorium, about 10 minutes away by taxi. We echo the positive reviews about the cleanliness of the room, which was spotless and the friendliness of the reception staff one of whom, at least, spoke excellent English. The photos on Booking.com are a very good representation of the standard of the rooms. We were concerned that the room might be cold in December but in fact it was too warm until we turned down the radiator! Like many hotels in Austria, I think, there are no in-room tea or coffee making facilities. The wifi was fine. The restaurant-bar food selection for vegetarians is quite limited. The cold buffet breakfast was comprehensive but, like all hotel buffets, if you do not eat a big breakfast you may not consider it value for money. A comment on accessibility for future visitors...I think it is right that the hotel listing doesn't mention 'assessible rooms' but my wife, who can walk a little and uses a manual wheelchair, was able to manage with my help, as she does at home. It may be a consideration for some people with walking difficulties that there is a hill up from the hotel to the nearby U3 metro station. The front door of the hotel has steps but there is level access via the rear door in the car park. I think that an electric wheelchair user with a compact chair might manage in the hotel but a large chair user would find it very difficult. The lift and the doors accommodated my wife's manual chair easily enough but the room door was too heavy for her to manage alone. She also has weak hands and could not press the soap or shower gel dispensers strongly enough to squeeze any out for herself. Fortunately we had brought our own.

We were very satisfied with the accomodation. Very kind and helpful man at the reception, room was clean and comfortable. Near the accomodation is metro and train station. We absolutely recommend this hotel.
