Situated 700 metres from the city centre, the recently renovated Hotel do Parque offers a panoramic breakfast restaurant with views of the Lima River. Located within the Viana do Castelo Park and within the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route, it has a large outdoor swimming pool.

This hotel was exceptional, we had booked an apartment, it was the perfect layout for a family, super clean and well equipped with a full kitchen. We had a view of the pool which was great, the lobby, seating area and bar was great. Everything was immaculately clean. The reason we stayed the night was to see the Festas da Agonia, we couldn't have got closer to the start of the festival, it was about a 30 second walk, so a perfect location for us and parking included (we were doing a road trip around Portugal. Would definitely stay there again. It was quite pricey, but I'm assuming that was due to the festival taking place

Read the past reviews with trepidation. But sctually the traffic noise through the double glazing was inaudible. The welcome was fine. The free secure parking was fine. The room was clean and functional. It's now a hotel for passing travellers. We've stayed in the past when their trade was more lively and they could support a restaurant, but there's ample choice in the town. Just don't walk. It's a hell of a drag back up the hill.

Great rooms - clean and neat. Easy access to town for shopping and laundry and eating. Breakfast also at the hotel, although at 7.30am
