We had a lovely room...more of a suite, right by the canal so we could hear the gondolas going past, some with live music. The staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble.

Really great location if you want to walk around the centre of Venice, particularly handy for Piazza San Marco. Staff are impeccably polite, friendly, and professional. Breakfast is pretty decent and has some variety so it's not exactly the same stuff every day. Most important of all is that it's clean, comfortable, and secure, and as I say, you can't fault that location if you want to be central.
