Gorgeous location, spectacular view from the room. Staff was nice, restaurant was great, food was lovely. The room was very big and spacious. Wish we could have spent more time there!

Hotel Stella D’Italia is situated on Lake Lugano, and every room on the property had a lake view. We stayed in room 133 and the view we had was absolutely stunning, an incredible view of the mountains and lakes, plus a glimpse of the Alps too. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and whilst we attempted to speak some Italian, they could understand and talk English very well so were able to help us with directions to certain places etc. The hotel has a small deck with sun loungers that lead onto the lake so being able just to relax at times in the sun was so lovely.

This family owned / run hotel was booked as the final leg of our 2 week journey where we travelled from Luxembourg to Sicily, calling in at many interesting and beautiful areas along the way, This last evening was planned (many months ago in the cold winter months) as our 'farewell' to Italy, and we had hoped for time (and the weather) to walk along Lake Lugana. It rained. It rained HARD, and evern though we could see the beauty all around us, we decided not to venture out and relax within the hotel, as we had an 8 hour drive home to Luxembourg the next day. We sat in the quiet of their lounge, read our books and took in the delight of an afternoon aperitif. Due to the weather we therefore decided to eat in the restaurant, where the food was excellent. The hotel itself is clean, and well decorated, albeit in some eyes, the decor would be considered a little 'aged'. We had an excellent stay, and certainly would consider visiting on a different occasion, especially as we have 'unfinished business', the walk along the Lake Lugano!

Idyllic beautiful spot. Really nice hotel ,very good restaurant and extremely helpful staff. Parking in hotel park or with a pass from reception one can use the local public car parks . We parked outside the front door each day. Perfect.
