The reception we got when we arrived (before check in time) was friendly and helpful. We had been in transit for 24 hours and the hosts were so considerate. The owners live here and so it is a very family-like atmosphere, which we embraced. Barbara gave a us map showing an excellent route for walking and seeing much art. We took her advice and were grateful. Nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was lovely and overall they are the most delightful couple. I will never forgot my birthday there!

The location is perfect. The most beautiful and safest part of Valparaiso. Reuben and his family are very kind and welcoming people. Highly recommended. The café next door serves a very nice breakfast. For great empanadas, go up the street to Le Pató, a hole-in-the-wall empenaderia.

The staff is vey friendly and accomdating, the internet is strong, and the neighborhood is beautiful. I would recommend this hostel to all travelers who visit Valparaiso.
