The pool. The location. The staff. I was warmly greeted by Grettel, who took time to introduce me to the property and its facilities. She also gave me good advice about where to visit and where I might best get an opportunity to see bird and wild life. Kevin was the only other staff member that I interacted with but he too was friendly and gave practical advice about my onward travel and places in Costa Rica. I lucked out and a six bed dorm all to myself so enjoyed privacy at a good price point. The dorm room is modern, large, air conditioned and comfortable.

I stayed there for 5 days in April and had the best time. Gretel and Kevin took great care of me, always super helpful and full of tips on what to do, explore, the best places to eat. The room was so spacious, with new and very comfortable beds, overall everything was very clean, well equipped and tidy shared kitchen, huge swimming pool (I was not bothered by the music from the restaurant next door which stopped at 10pm) Highly recommend this gem!
