This is a perfect country pub with comfortable rooms, good food and drink and very friendly staff. All the rooms have been recently refurbished and have excellent facilities. The food is all cooked to order with high quality ingredients. The wine list is comprehensive and reasonably priced and, very important in a proper pub, the beer is well kept! It is set in beautiful Devonshire countryside with many walks available, but you will need a car to get there…..public transport is non existent in this remote spot! However this does mean that you get an excellent night’s sleep on comfortable beds with the only disturbance being the dawn chorus outside your bedroom window. We will definitely return!

Lovely rural location and perfect for what we needed when exploring short drives to surrounding areas. Accommodation was styled to a high standard and the staff were super helpful.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable bed, great shower, the staff couldn’t do more to help, the breakfast was fantastic topped off by making the dog his own sausage. For us the location was great allowing us to get to the destinations we wanted to go to without any hassle. The bar snacks were great! There was also a nice outside seating area to enjoy the sun. If we didn’t have to get back for work we would have stopped a third night.
