We didn’t stay at Bains House, we were upgraded to Moon River Guesthouse!

Although I booked Bains house, they changed my booking to their other property which called Moonriver lodge so my review is based on staying at Moonriver as I never saw the Bains Lodge. Moonriver is in central town and walking distance to shops Moonriver is a house converted to a mini hotel, our was a 4 sleeper room but quite small in space, comfortable nonetheless. The back yard is the on the banks of the orange river and has beautiful lawn, a river deck, pool and slide as well as a jungle gym for kids. Being on the river bank is a bonus. The rooms have decent quality furnishings, and heat/cool airconditioner. However, Bains house was self catering and we carried out own food, whereas Moonriver but we made a plan around this. Breakfast was faitly basic and we gave it a miss

I liked the rusks that were there, I have a nut allergy and I am always cautious about rusks because many contain nuts, so I was happy to find that these did not have nuts.

the place was neat and quiet, and the staff was friendly.
