Hotel Overview

Surrounded by breathtaking mountains and conveniently located in the center of Tulbagh, this boutique heritage hotel features a restaurant, tapas, and wine bar, spa, conference center, private parking, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout.
All rooms are individually designed and feature air-conditioning, flat-screen cable TVs, safes, minibars, and ensuite bathrooms.
Rooms fall into two categories, contemporary and heritage. Two contemporary Protea rooms can accommodate one additional child on a sofa bed, and the family suite has an interconnecting twin room for two additional children. Suites feature fireplaces, palatial showers, and bespoke baths.
Three pool areas are framed by indigenous fynbos gardens.
Activities include historic tours, wine, and olive tastings, mountain biking, hiking, horse riding, golf, and a zip-lining adventure.
Cape Town is a comfortable 90-minute drive on tar roads.

Our four contemporary Fynbos rooms offer comfort and style. They feature extra length king size beds or twins by request, and en suite bathrooms with bespoke showers. A deck offers space to relax with vistas of the surrounding mountains.

Heritage Fynbos King Room - enter dates to see room photos

Our five charming heritage Fynbos rooms offer period features of traditional yellowwood floors, beamed ceilings, chandeliers and extra length, king or queen size four-poster beds, adorned with fine cotton linen. All rooms feature luxurious showers, one of which is ingeniously incorporated into the original inglenook fireplace. You step out into an indigenous garden with a plunge pool and access to historic Church Street.

Named after the imposing Saronsberg mountain overlooking Tulbagh, this luxurious suite has pride of place in our contemporary collection. It offers an extra length king bed, or twin beds by request, a cosy fireplace and comfortable arm chairs. A dressing area leads you to the bespoke bathroom with a double shower and romantic contemporary bath. Step outside and relax on the deck, with a glass of award-winning Saronsberg wine, and vistas of the mountains.

The romantic Honeymoon Suite takes pride of place in our heritage portfolio, offering old world charm with all modern comforts. It boasts two fireplaces, one in the luxurious bathroom accompanying the contemporary bath, with a large shower, separate dressing area, lounge and four-poster bed. Step out to an indigenous garden with plunge pool and access to historic Church Street.

Named after the breathtaking mountains to the west of Tulbagh, this suite forms part of our heritage collection, with period features of yellowwood floors, beamed ceilings, chandeliers and an extra length king size four-poster bed. It features a cosy fireplace with arm chairs and an NFC Bluetooth sound bar so you can enjoy your own music collection. The luxurious bathroom offers a shower for two and contemporary bath. Step out into an indigenous garden with plunge pool and direct access to the historic Church Street.

Sunburst Protea Family Room - enter dates to see room photos

Named after the radiant Sunburst Protea, this room is available as a double room for couples, or with an optional interconnecting twin bedroom, as a family suite. The main room offers a king sized bed with a twin option. It features an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. The additional bedroom features two twin beds, a second TV.

Our two contemporary Pool rooms have direct access to the main pool and offer comfort and space. They feature an extra length king size bed, or twins by request, and palatial shower room. A cosy lounge and dressing area with a sofa, leads out on to the terrace, an ideal place to relax with a book and a glass of local wine.

This is a lovely hotel - right in the centre of town, meaning a gentle stroll to see the sights. The terrace has a gorgeous views looking across to the distant mountains, and the selection on the menu is very comprehensive. The pool in the rear courtyard has a lawn next which attracts the sun most of the day. Parking is well catered for as there is a secure space across from the hotel. I stayed there for two nights and can highly recommend the hotel. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly!!
