It was very comfortable and clean. The views from the front of the hotel look over the town and the other side of the valley. This did mean that the walk back from the town was a good fitness workout. There is a pedestrian path that takes you down into Trier (also regular buses if you don’t fancy the walk). The town of Trier was lovely, full of good bars and restaurants. The cathedral is very imposing and we were lucky to have good weather allowing us to sit outside and enjoy good wine near the cathedral. Coming from the UK, I was struck by how clean and tidy the town and surrounding areas were (which is a sad fact of the UK now). The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but the breakfast was good and worth the €14. You can get a cold beer or glass of wine from reception. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend Trier and would stay at this hotel again.
