The Charterhouse does not have 24-hour reception facilities, so please provide an estimated time of arrival when booking. Check-in is usually before 18:00. No arrivals after 22:00 are accepted.Please note that the hotel does not accept cats. Pets can only be accommodated in the Small Double Room with Patio and Large Family Room (2 adults 2 children) with Garden View, and cannot enter the main house. Please inform the property prior to arrival if your are travelling with a pet.Please note that guests who book 'room with breakfast' rates can choose from a variety of breakfast options including Continental, Full English and Vegetarian.Please inform in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation.

Lisa was so friendly from first communication right through to the end of our stay. It is in a fabulous location, perfect if driving or travelling by train. My daughter and I felt very safe and cared for. Excellent breakfast and beautifully presented rooms. Homemade jams and locally sourced ingredients made a very special touch. I'd recommend the Peach and Vanilla and Raspberry jams😍

Comfortable and clean property, with good parking. We didn’t have the breakfast, but it looked good from all the reviews! Fresh milk in the fridge for morning teas. The host was very accommodating on our late arrival. Spacious room.

Location for us was perfect! Lovely and quiet for the evening but within a 20 min walk of the centre for during the day. The room was nicely decorated, clean and the fridge came in very handy as it allowed us to store some drinks and snacks to take out on day trips. Couldn’t fault the owners. Lisa was welcoming when we arrived and made sure we were well looked after at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was great. The property does sit on a hill so some may find the driveway difficult. To get around this, there are steps through the garden and I’m sure the owners would happily assist with bags should anyone need help from the lower car park. Would definitely recommend and if we ever returned I’d happily rebook.
