The hotel stay is a very fair deal. Yes, it is a bit outdated but everything is kept clean and fine. I would give a note between 7 and 8 to not to inflate the expectation of other custommers (it is not suited for someone who hates staircases or a bit older carpets) but my feeling was more about 9 - we liked the design (a bit retro but nice, good old English vibes), the billiard, the friendly staff. All in all, we enjoyed the stay, we got everything we needed - clean bed, clean hot shower, tea/coffee maker in room, a good breakfast (not a buffet, served 8:30-9) and no parking problem nearby which otherwise might be also an issue in UK towns.
