It's located in a vineyard, with beautiful views of the mountain and of the valley, 20 min driving from Cafayate. As you can imagine, it is a very quiet area, you will only hear birds and the wind at night and that was amazing. We found the entire place clean and comfortable. The fact that check-in is allowed until late was also a plus, as the drive from Cachi took longer than expected. Gustavo was a nice host, he had a lot of patience with my struggling Spanish. We had dinner and wine there, which were both delicious and had the unexpected pleasure of listening to an ad hoc guitar concert from our talented host and one his guests. That evening was truly the highlight of our trip in Notheast Argentina and we will always remember it :)

We arrived at Posada de las Vinas and within minutes felt like we were at home. Gustavo and Alicia are so warm and welcoming that any language barrier quickly disappeared. Alicia gave us suggestions for exploring the area and Gustavo entertained us with his hilarious stories and gregarious outgoing personality. The posada itself is beautifully situated among the vineyards with a backdrop of mountains. Our dinner was unbelievable - delicious and generous, with wonderful wine from their own vineyards. rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. we had a beautiful view of the amazing landscape. We would go back in a heartbeat.

I don't normally give 10's, because then how do you rate those places that are truly exceptional. Posada de las Vinas is the epitome of exceptional. Gustavo and Alicia are warm and gracious hosts. The other staff are just as nice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxed. The food and the wine... oh my God!! We shared New Year's Eve with Gustavo and Alicia, their family and friends, and the other guests. Dinner was three hours, featuring the Argentinian epitome of BBQ - the Asado, and excellent wine from the vines growing only a few meters away. Liz and I speak very little Spanish, but we really felt like part of the family - pool time, walking with the dogs through the vineyard, reading on the balcony. It's not fancy, but if you want good down-home comfort this is the place to be.
