Family room with jacuzzi was big and comfortable. Balcon view to the mountains was great. City center is within a five minute walk. Pool and spa area was clean and not so busy.

Hotel was in a great location - a few minutes walk from Skandebeg Square. A Spar supermarket just across the road, and a Currency Exchange just down the road. We had never visited Albania before and wanted a hotel with a gym. It turns out that many of the options on Booking.com claim to have one, but when you investigate it turns out that they mean a public gym nearby. We were able to contact the Black Diamond via Whatsapp and they were very prompt and helpful in answering our questions. Not sure what standard of hotel to expect, but it turns out that the Black Diamond is very much on a par with a UK 4 star hotel such as, for example, a Holiday Inn or Mercure that we use regularly in the UK. Room was a little small, but everything else absolutely fine. Fridge/minibar in room, free safe, modern, clean and comfortable. Wifi worked fine. Hotel public areas also very clean. Breakfast included in the price was more than ample. Cearals, fruit, a couple of hot options and a great range of pastries and cakes - we were very happy with it. Gym was quite decent for a hotel gym: treadmills, bike, cross trainer, bench press, multigym resistance machine, good range of dumbells, mats and fitball. Everything was clean, modern and in good working order. Pool was a nice bonus - used it every day during our stay, and also included in the price. Worked out at 218 euros for two of us for two nights, which included the breakfast and use of the leisure facilities, which I felt was very good value for a Friday and Saturday night in the centre of a capital city. Would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Tirana. Must finish by saying a big thank you to Maria and Ona, who were amongst the most friendly, helpful and thoroughly nice reception staff we have met anywhere. Hope to see you again soon.
