I found the tea making facilities to be the best I've seen for several years. The room was provided with a plug in air conditioner (which we didn't use). A stand up shower (i.e. not a shower in a bath). Breakfast in the bar was attractively served and plentiful.

Country pub, nice beer garden at back. Excellent price for mid week b and b. Not far from major road network. Quiet at night though some traffic from 7 onwards. Food was standard pub classics but well done and priced. Good wine and beer selection. What made it though were the staff who were really friendly , took and brought orders to the outside tables and continually checking all ok. Whilst accomodation is a little dated it was very clean. Would stay again if in the area.

Room was stunning. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty. Early check in at 2pm is great. Perfect location for Calke Abbey events. Had lunch there as well which was very nice and excellent value.
