A lovely cosy traditional inn in a beautiful old building, the Lower Lode Inn is in a gorgeous location on the riverbank. The room was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable with a large en-suite bathroom and very comfy bed. There was also plenty of storage space. Parking was easy and staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was full of nice touches like a basket of books to borrow on the landing. The beer garden is glorious on a sunny afternoon. Very tasty pub grub is served until 8:00pm in the bar and outside. The ferry across the river isn’t running at the moment. It’s a pleasant half-hour walk past canals and fields into Tewkesbury, with canoe hire available nearby.
