Dave & Janet were very friendly and welcoming, with cakes for us on our arrival to boot. A beautiful place to stay. The room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean with a superb breakfast.

David and Janet made us feel at 'home' as soon as we arrived . Their greeting and the comfort of our bedroom was more than we anticipated. Being just a few miles from the Hay festival and very close to friends we wished to visit in the opposite direction made our choice of Carinya ideal. The breafast we were served was by far the best we have had in years of travel around the globe and worthy of a 5 *+ rating ( thanks Jan). The house is in a quiet and most beautiful location with Red Kites circling around their home. With an immaculate garden to sit in you could not ask for a better choice if you wish to get away from the hubub of the crowds in Hay.

David and Janet welcomed us with warmth, while respecting our privacy for the duration of our stay. They made a wonderful breakfast each morning and were a delight to chat with whenever we caught them in passing. Their communication was fantastic from booking to arrival and they always made sure we were comfortable. Me and my partner enjoyed our stay which was our home while we attended Hay Festival. It's a short and simple drive to the festival and it gave us a chance to relax away from the hustle and bustle of tourism within central Hay-on-Wye.

David & Janet provided us with first class food every morning. It was deliciously and freshly cooked, nicely presented, very tasty and plentiful. They were excellent hosts in every possible way. A beautiful garden in which we were able to sit and enjoy, with a variety of birds including red kites flying overhead.
