The food at this place was quite incredible - so many different dishes and the staff so helpful in explaining how to eat them. The private onsen was in a lovely outdoor setting. Our room was comfy (although didn’t personally like the style of pillows) and very quiet at night and it’s just a short walk to the bus stop to get that first bus (6.30am) to Kamikochi. Totally recommend staying here.

Good location. Short walk from bus station. Friendly hosts. Private onsen for use. Enjoyed the breakfast and dinner. Cherry blossom tree outside the window was a bonus!

Location was only a few minutes walk from the Hirayu onsen bus stop. There are 2 private onsens to choose from, free of charge for guests to use. They serve free traditional breakfast with great presentation. The hosts kindly hold luggage before and after your stay. Traditional yukata and haori are provided for all guests and traditional slippers too. Free cookies and tea are provided.

Spacious rooms, wonderful staff. The private onsen was lovely and the breakfast was first class. The staff were polite and helpful and everything was beautifully presented.
