Quaint, super cozy and private with modern facilities. Amazing attentive and accommodating staff with little difficulty with language. Meals were beautifully curated without repetition for our 2 days stay.

Incredible Onsens and rooms. We went during April and the sight of snow while being in an onsen was pretty incredible. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The dinner was a whole experience unto itself. Definitely would go back here again!

Outstanding stay, the rooms are very traditional and have their own onsen. Besides the facility has 2 private onsen. The dinner was itself a great experience, on a private table, everything was delicious and the service was excellent

We loved our stay here. It was traditional but luxurious and very comfortable. The building and surroundings are beautiful. The food was amazing. Would definitely recommend staying if you are visiting Okuhida. It is possible to get here by public transport (and we did) but the buses are not very frequent so make sure to factor that in to your plans.

Hidden in the mountains, peaceful and tranquil. Two private baths in the room and two other private outdoor baths for use so complete privacy and such a treat. Absolutely beautiful and well designed rooms. Modern yet included lots of traditional Japanese touches. Everything was so well designed in the room and those details don’t go unnoticed. Food was delicious as well, the beef served at dinner was fantastic. Would have loved to stay a couple more nights.

This will be remembered as one of the most special places I've ever stayed in my life! The room was just divine, so spacious and stylish with traditional finishes and special touches, with a huge picture window looking out onto the snowy landscape. We had our own onsen outside our back door. The tiny little "morning market" a short walk away area was fun to explore. All meals included and also delightful and expansive! Initially I thought of it as a splurge pricewise but when you consider our breakfast and multi course dinner was included it was very reasonable for such a special place. Magical.

Dinner was comparable to Michelin restaurants. Private onsen was spectacular. The room itself was very nice as well as the view.

Beautiful location, great to unwind and relax for few days. Delicious food, after dinner we even get presented with late night snack and cold drink. Staff fully professional and extremely nice. Room is great if you want to feel like in traditional ryokan, especaily private onsen and kotatsu were awasome. We recommend to stay at least for 2 days in order to really feel the place. It was hands down best place we visited during our 3 week in Japan.
