You can tell the owners have put so much effort into making sure their guest have a great stay. You get the full house to yourself with bikes, sauna, seperate movie room, etc! The place is immaculate, we have no complaints. Thanks so much!

Apartment was great and very spacious . The use of the bikes and parking was an added bonus . Everything was well set up and clean . It’s a 10 minute walk to town .Kitchen had all the things you need.

2 mins into our arrival at our front door, a local man crossed the street directly towards us. We both only had the basic words to use with each other but he had obviously stopped us, to offer us, a friendly token, his freshly brought Strawberries. Insisting I get the largest one that looked like a heart !!!! Instant tears of happiness and acceptance 🤍 This has never happened in any of our previous visits to Japan, he is one special soul which makes this world a better place. TakayamaBase is an incredible location and has so many quality facilities. The unit is located within walking distance of the local train station or a quick cab ride, down the Main Street so we no longer needed to drag our bags along with us. It is a revamped building with a good mixture of old world woodwork and modern facilities etc. it deserves to be highlighted as the perfect stop for large families, full of kids. The use of the bikes, made exploring incredibly easy. It warms my heart to know that I could continue to return a few more times, without feeling like I’ve seen it all. I have fallen hard for Takayama, for many many reasons and this Base was just the icing on the cake. I wouldn’t change a single thing.
