Great location super close to Taipei Central Station, Clean facilities (toilet/shower👍) Super cosy bank bed with own charging station.

- It's so close to the main station that you can literally traverse very quickly to it without planning too much time ahead, so you can leave quite late. That said, the station is a complicated maze, and you might get lost in it if you didn't visualize the plan printed on the floor near almost every Y exits in your mind how it works, the directions, and such. Y5 exit is where the bus station is (inside the fashion mall, "1st" floor, and walk to the very back to buy tickets), and if you want to go to other cities, that's the viable option. HSR is too expensive unless you're going to the southernmost and need to save time. TR is a little bit difficult to find and difficult to explain in words. - Because it's capsule-like, you don't hear much noise sleeping at night. Though, the capsule is quite small so when you stretch your arms, you might hit the wall, and unfortunately the wall isn't solid, so it can make a loud "bomb" noise when you knocked on it, shocking the person sleeping next to you. That said, I always wear earplugs when I sleep in a multi-bed room, so that's one reason I don't hear a lot of noises. - There's automated washing machine and dryer there, so one don't need to find a shop for it. And it's not a laundry service which only returns your shirt back to you the next day (like Avenue Hostel in Budapest) so if you forgot your shirt, it's your responsibility.

The location is a huge plus—the hostel is right in front of Exit Y13 of Taipei City Mall, making it incredibly convenient to get around. If you’re traveling alone and looking for a no-frills stay in a prime location, Plainstay is definitely worth considering.
