If You're Fond Of Sand Dunes And Salty Air. We've just spent three nights at Chala-Kigi in Swakopmund... and loved the apartment, the warm welcome and the area. Walking distance to the dunes, beach and town (or short drive if you prefer). Lovely open plan apartment, looking out onto a green grassed garden, with beautiful succulents and three very large palm trees. Trudi is a great host, very helpful and communicative with advice before we arrived and very kindly helped us out with some "rescue beers" as we arrived late on a Saturday afternoon and were unaware of time restrictions in place re being able to buy beer and wine at the weekends. Swakopmund area is great to visit with unique vistas inc. dunes and moonscapes both within 50km easy drive. Highly recommend this apartment to other visitors, along with a professional tour to Sandwich Harbour (by Desert, Dunes and Dust Tours) and a self drive to Goanikontes Oasis. And if you don't quite recognise my song title for this review, it's a much repeated line in a laid back tune called At The River, by Groove Armada.

This was most spacious accommodation decorated and maintained to a high standard and forming a wing of the owners home. Interesting view beyond the cemetery into the sand dunes.
