A traditional pub. Kind friendly host. Good coffee. A well equipped, clean, nicely decorated bedroom with comfortable beds. Exactly what we'd been looking for.

The pub is in a lovely village, The room was everything we needed, the bathroom was large and the shower was exceptionally good. We were going to Badminton Horse Trials and the location was perfect, just under 30 mins to the park avoiding the main routes and queues.

The Star Inn made us feel at home straight away, exceeding our expectations. Both meals and breakfast where excellent and great value for money. A good bar in a very laid back comfortable pub which is exactly what we wanted. The room was quiet, very large with a good shower and clean.

Couldn't fault it.fantastic room and really lovely and friendly staff made you feel at home.Excellent restaurant and service and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in stroud.
