“Great place to relax”

Friendly staff and a large room. Good value. Plenty of seating in the lounge area.

“A very 'grand' experience!”

We loved this beautiful old building which has been well-maintained to a good level of comfort. It sits in an established park of old trees, in a lovely village. The staff are friendly and switched on, and the restarant meals are the best we have had in similar hotels.

“Nice and quirky…recommend”

Transported back to the 1950s. If you like Call the Midwife style, this is the place for you. I mean it in a good way. Most of these victorian hotels in scotland are rough and neglected but this one is clean and cared for. Rooms (i booked cheapest) are a bit basic and bathroom is from 1972. That didnt bother me. Excellent staff and victorian dining hall make it. Scary carpet though. Charming and a bit ghosty

“Great for a few nights”

The hotel was a proper old fashioned Scottish hotel. It was a bit tired in places but was full of charm and little nooks to sit in. The rooms were big and had all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was good and the porridge was great. As we stayed for a few days, we had a volume of dinners and the food was tasty and well presented. Mae was a great waitress and always made sure we had everything we needed.
