It’s a beautiful building, with many original features and a museum on level 1. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the view was beautiful. It’s very central and we walked to the local Christmas markets which turned out to be one of the best ( and least crowded) we’d been to in the many towns we had stayed at in Germany. The staff were very friendly. It was a little unusual that the day after we arrived, it was the staff’s day off and so we were entrusted with the key to the hotel… it was very convenient for us, and we didn’t mind- just glad the staff trusted us!

Charming, traditional building, which is in the heart of Stein am Rhein, and also within walking distance of the railway station (under 10 minutes). The room was very clean with a lovely view over the river, the heating was efficient and the bed was comfortable. There was a fridge and also a hair dryer. The breakfast was good, and the staff were kind and helpful.

The hotel is located in the historical centre of Stein am Rhein (Old town) about 50m from the central square. The hotel building is perhaps 5-600 years old and the top floor room was accessible by elevator. The room was very spacious and had views over the Rhine which is immediately adjacent the hotel. We arrived by river boat and walked about 200m on the flat. Breakfast was included and service was very good. We did not use the hotel restaurant for other meals but it looked good. The room was large, comfortable and enjoyed ancient building charm with practical modern windows and excellent modern bathroom. It is essential to visit the Monastery/Museum which is a few metres from the front door of the hotel.
