The hotel was perfect in every way, location, view, cleanliness, food, staff, everything was perfect. We would have given it a 10 if the mattress in the bed wasn't so bad. The mattress was very soft and didn't give any support to the back, we actually woke up with back pain.

We were so pleased we chose Strandhotel Margaretha. We had a day on Lake Wolfgang two years ago and loved it so much we decided to holiday there longer. This hotel gives you great views across the lake, close access to the Schafbahnhoff (to judge breaks in the cloud and react quickly), a close bus stop takes you to St. Wolfgang, Strobl and Bad Ischl (town and train station) also, it's close to the ferry station for excellent tours of the lake. The room and bathroom were comfortable, smart and well equipped. We loved our balcony too! The staff were friendly and spoke great English - special mention to Tim, and lovely lady from Slovakia, who looked after us in the restaurant. Also congratulations to the chef and team - the food was excellent. First time eating Char (fresh from the lake) - delicious and better than salmon! We highly recommend this hotel - ask for a lake view!
