Hotel Overview

Elegant and classical, this award-winning 5-star hotel is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the Channel Islands, with a top restaurant, an excellent location and a relaxing spa. The Old Government House Hotel & Spa is just a 5-minute walk to the harbour.
Dating back to 1858, the building was once the official residence of the island’s Governor. Today, the Old Government House still retains many beautiful original features and a timeless charm and elegance. The building has been lovingly restored and sympathetically refurbished, incorporating the modern facilities of a luxury hotel.

The Olive Grove, the deck and the outdoor heated pool offer wonderful views over the gardens and the harbour. The state-of-the-art Revolution Health Club is Guernsey's most exclusive private gym. The luxurious spa has 2 whirlpools, a sauna and a steam room offering top-of-the-range hydrotherapy for your whole body.
The hotel has won awards for its cuisine and boasts 2 restaurants, the Curry Room at The Governor’s and the more informal OGH Brasserie.

Each room has one queen double bed and Red Carnation extras such as a twice-daily maid service, luxury toiletries in bathrooms and complimentary mineral water. Many of these rooms overlook the walled garden and the outdoor swimming pool. All have a queen-size bed. These rooms cannot accommodate an extra bed.

Elegant and classical, king/twin rooms are designed to the highest standards, with rich fabrics. The rooms have one king-size bed (that can also be separated into 2 twin single beds). Each room has 2 easy chairs, a writing/dressing table and an up-lighter lamp.

Elegant and classical, the master king suites are designed to the highest standard with rich fabrics. Each suite has a sofa bed, a writing/dressing table, an up-lighter lamp and one king-size bed.

Double or Twin Room with Sea View - enter dates to see room photos

With scenic views towards over St Peter Port and across to Herm and Sark, each of these rooms comes with a comfortable seating area in which to relax. Rooms feature a king-size bed as standard, or twin beds if you prefer. Decorated using custom made fabrics and original artwork, they also benefit from twice daily maid service, luxury toiletries in bathrooms and complimentary mineral water. Free wired and wireless internet is included.

Rooms feature king-size or twin beds, and are individually designed and decorated using custom-made fabrics and original artwork. Some rooms have enclosed balconies, featuring panoramic electronic windows and insect shades, allowing guests to enjoy the view year-round.

Customer service and accommodating baggage etc all done with great care and attention. Beautiful cheese cake happy anniversary dish and hand written card as a beautiful surprise when we reached our room ❤️
